His professional experience focuses on open source analysis across the following industries: international aviation, global technology development forecasting, government affairs consulting in the Balkans, and defense contracting.
Born in 1988 in Yekaterinburg/Russia, studies at the Munich School of Political Science/Bavarian School of Pulbic Policy. Fluent in German, Russian and English, studies Hebrew and understands a few scraps of Korean. Specializes on International Relations, with a heavy focus on Israel/Middle East and Russia/former USSR.
Carl is a decorated military analyst specializing in Russia and Eurasia, as well as a senior at the Mercyhurst Intelligence Studies program with a minor in Russian Studies. His professional background is in strategic OSINT and all-source intelligence production.
Davor holds a dual MA in English Language and Literature and Russian Language and Literature from the University of Zagreb and has studied at Lomonosov Moscow State University. He is a project manager at a translation company in Zagreb, Croatia. Beyond his native Croatian, and Russian and English fluencies, he is proficient in German and Spanish.
Alex is a student of economics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and studies political science with a focus in international law at the Munich Hochschule für Politik. He speaks German, English, Russian and Korean fluently and a bit of beginner Chinese. He currently resides in South Korea for an internship with the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
Stefan holds a M.A. from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) with a concentration in Conflict Management. A native Macedonian speaker, he is also fluent in English, Serbian, and Croatian. He holds a degree in law from University of Skopje and is an experienced Balkans politics commentator with detailed knowledge of post-conflict development and conflict mediation.
Italian-Argentinean, Mario Vanella is a MA graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and holds a MA in Corporate Law at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano. He worked in the Secretariat of the Vice President of the European Parliament in Belgium, and then in the private sector in Italy, US, Israel, and Argentina. At SAIS, he was awarded the Carlo Maria Santoro Fellowship and the Marie Kraus Fellowship.
Jeremy is a Business Analyst for Nicobar Group, a China-focused energy consultancy, and has an MA from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) with concentrations in Russia-Eurasia Studies and China Studies. His professional experience includes due diligence research for Fortune 500 clients in Chinese, Russian, French and Spanish at Kroll, Inc., operations and research support for China-focused strategic advisory firm GreenPoint Group, and research for the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC. He is currently based in Shanghai.
Grace is currently studying to earn her MA from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), expecting to graduate in May 2016. She holds a BA from Tulane University in International Relations and Russian Studies (having spent one year studying in Vladimir, Russia). Before SAIS, she worked in various positions in Washington, DC dealing with international policy, and then received a Fulbright Fellowship to work in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Most recently she worked at the Carnegie Moscow Center, focusing her research on economic policy analysis.
Sean is a junior at Mercyhurst University with a major in Intelligence Studies as well as minors in Russian Studies and Data Science. He is currently an intern at the Erie Crime Analysis Center (ECAC) based in Buffalo, New York.
Tom is a Junior at Mercyhurst University who is pursuing two majors in Intelligence Studies and Political Science. He has academic analytical experience and Spanish language skills, and he is a current intern at the Hudson Institute.
Alicja is a current Mercyhurst University student with two majors in Intelligence Studies and Criminal Justice. Alicja currently works on the Anti-Human Trafficking Intelligence Cell at Mercyhurst University and as an analyst with Washington/Baltimore HIDTA. A native Polish speaker, Alicja is fluent in English and has limited working proficiency in Spanish and Russian.
James is a graduate of Mercyhurst University's Intelligence Studies program with a minor in computer systems. He has experience as an intern with the Erie Crime Analysis Center located in Buffalo, NY.
John is an adjunct fellow at the American Security Project (ASP), a non-partisan policy and research think-tank based in Washington, D.C. His work has examined the vital intersection between history, political-science, economics, and other fields. His focus lies on analyzing trends in conflict, development, and governance in the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, and elsewhere. John will soon receive his B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science from Providence College.
